Nebulous Level Spike Walkthrough
Master the campaign bookmarks that stop underfunded runs: L5, L7–8, L10, and L13.
Most Nebulous wipes before Guardian 1 are not “random difficulty”—they are failed bookmarks. This walkthrough covers the campaign spikes the rest of the wiki keeps repeating: Level 5, Levels 7–8, Level 10, and Level 13. Master these four, and the path into Beat Guardians stops feeling like a brick wall.
Roblox [NEW MODE] Nebulous by latent//state (permission from LostVolBytes) is a solo bullet-hell boss rush released 2026-06-29: 25 levels, 5 Guardians, drone-led finale, 80+ upgrades, permadeath after first clear. Confirm basics in What Is Nebulous and Getting Started if this is your first session.
Prep shared by every spike
- Group +15% resources active
- Upgrade spine: damage → clip → reload → bounce → rockets (Early Game)
- Usable rockets ready (Rockets and Items)
- Farm loop understood (How to Farm)
- Movement calm (Controls)
If any line fails, farm first. Ego attempts teach panic shopping.
Level 5 — rocket open + finish
Level 5 is the soft tutorial for core opens. The geometry often stalls pure gun DPS on a protected core or thick plate. Your job:
- Clear peripheral cannons while holding a wide orbit.
- Spend a rocket when the open window is obvious—not when you are merely nervous.
- Convert the opened core with continuous fire; do not stop to vacuum every scrap mid-finish.
- Exit with loot on the leave path.
Fail tells: empty rocket stock before the open; health panic buys after a death; stopping fire during the finish.
Fix: buy rocket economy or raw damage, farm once, retry the same day. Guardian 1 sits near this gate—arrive funded.
Levels 7–8 — opener discipline
These levels recycle rocket-open pressure with denser add or plate cycles. Treat them as ammo exams:
- Open with the rocket budget you planned, not a double-tap panic.
- Keep clip/reload honest so post-open DPS does not die in a reload window.
- If you whiff an open, reset mentally—do not dump a second rocket “to feel better” unless the core is still closed and the window is real.
Players who breeze L5 then die on L7 usually spent their rocket identity on comfort nodes. Re-audit Upgrade Mistakes.
Level 10 — wing control, then corner lure
Level 10 punishes tunnel vision on the whole boss at once. The winning macro:
- Pick a wing (or side assembly) and delete it first.
- Refuse to chase symmetric damage across the whole body while both wings still fire.
- After a wing falls, lure the remainder toward a corner or safer orbit where your fire concentrates and your escape lane stays readable.
- Collect loot only on arcs that do not cross the densest emitters.
This is the same literacy the finale and some Guardians reuse—see Final Boss and Campaign Map.
Fail tells: orbiting the center forever; ricochet identity missing when multi-segment bosses demand parallel damage; size upgrades making the lure path too fat.
Level 13 — shield circles
Level 13 is a composure exam. Shield-circle or ring hazard patterns want a boring answer:
- Choose a radius you can hold.
- Strafe in a stable circle; micro-jerk only for telegraphed bolts.
- Keep firing—reload upgrades matter here more than another health node.
- Rocket only if a plate/core open is clearly gated; rings alone are usually a gun+movement problem.
Stopping fire to “focus on dodging” is how rings outlast your patience. If your thumbs shake, lower sensitivity slightly (Controls) and re-enter after one farm.
How spikes connect to Guardians
| Bookmark | Skill it trains | Where it pays later |
|---|---|---|
| L5 | Rocket open + finish | Guard 1 prep, mid-fight cores |
| L7–8 | Opener ammo discipline | Longer Guardian phases |
| L10 | Wing → lure | Split bosses, finale sides |
| L13 | Circle composure | Ring hazards, dense finales |
If a Guardian kills you, name which bookmark failed—not “the Guardian is unfair.” Then drill that bookmark on a funded soft attempt.
Practice plan (one evening)
- Fund rockets and damage.
- Clear L5 cleanly twice.
- Clear L7 or L8 with at least one rocket left in reserve.
- On L10, narrate out loud: “wing first, then lure.”
- On L13, hold fire for a full ring cycle without stopping the beam of shots.
- Only then queue the next Guardian.
Mobile and controller notes
On touch, keep rocket as a large reachable control; do not bury it under UI chrome. On gamepad, bind rocket to a bumper you can hit without releasing aim. Spikes are where mis-taps cost whole runs—especially once permadeath is live.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Nebulous pilots.
Which Nebulous levels are the biggest early spikes?
Level 5, levels 7–8, level 10, and level 13. Master rocket opens, wing control, and shield-circle composure before hard Guardian attempts.
What if I lack rockets at level 5?
Farm the prior level, buy rocket or usable-item economy, and retry. Forcing L5 without an open tool usually wastes attempts.
Why does level 10 feel unfair?
It often wants wing deletion before a corner lure. Fighting the whole body at once keeps both threat sides alive too long.
Do these spikes still matter after my first clear?
Yes—especially in permadeath, where a forgotten L13 composure break ends the save. Drill them until they feel boring.
